Hey guys! I just learned this “old” trick to making buttermilk. I have been using it, & it is DELICIOUS!
For my organic Blueberry Lemon-Zest Buttermilk Pancakes, check out my Instagram @wee_little_one
When making Buttermilk for pancakes, biscuits or any cooking, add 2 teaspoons fresh, squeezed lemon to 1 cup milk.
Use a hand strainer under the lemon so no seeds or lemon chunks fall into your milk. Stir, let curdle & stand for 5-10mins. You now have a delicious, rich buttery flavored milk for your recipe!
PS. For a rich butter topping, make your own butter using cream from a local farm, or heavy whipping cream. Recipe in previous blog post🥞
