I almost forgot to introduce myself! My name is Kelly, husband Charles & just turned 4yr old, Alva. The universe introduced me to Charles, and we knew we were meant to be! We married in 2009 and had my first child, Alva, in winter 2013. I am a late bloomer and had him at 36…but the timing was perfect. In 2012 I had a miscarriage and lost my mother to COPD (a lung disease) all in the same week! That’s another story! I taught elementary school for 5 yrs and my husband is an artist. We are saving for a big move to Equilada, Spain! My husband has been diagnosed Bi-Polar (aren’t all artists?π) and during a manic phase he threw out our microwave and all plastic containers. Then we started using Bokashi to compost all of our food scraps! At the time I was a little overwhelmed, but change is good! And good for the little…that’s us in a nutshell.

Early Life: Charles is a graduate of The School for Creative and Performing Arts, Cincinnati, Ohio. He went on to study sculpture & painting in Barcelona at Universitat de Barcelona and fine art at the University of Cincinnati's D.A.A.P. program. He was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Type 1 with manic episodes and was hospitalized on several occasions. On one occasion during a manic episode, he lived homeless on the streets of Las Vegas, until he was again hospitalized. His rich story can be seen in much of his artwork & lifestyle. He has worked with many materials ranging from stone to liquid acrylics. A large element in many of his works includes materials that would otherwise be discarded. One particular impressive element of his work is his ability to create a large painting in minimal time. He is active at home in gardening and lives a holistic lifestyle with his wife and 5yr old son.
