Did you know that the name “Little Emperors” was given to only children created by the “only child” law in China. That law has now been lifted, but some believe it has created a group of children that fall into the negative stereotypes of only children. In America, studies show that only children turn out just as great and well rounded as children with siblings.
When I was a teacher I had a picture that my husband sketched of me with a loose twirly bun in my hair, flower and my head turned sideways with a portion of my back showing. Someone wanted to cause trouble and complained so I was asked to take it down, even though my account was private…which lead me to believe it was a relative ( i know right?! ) Anyway, as i was so upset and embarrassed and shocked too, my good friend said, “Everybody got a back”
So, I always remember that saying…in that, we are all the same when it comes down to it! Only children or 20 siblings…

Early Life: Charles is a graduate of The School for Creative and Performing Arts, Cincinnati, Ohio. He went on to study sculpture & painting in Barcelona at Universitat de Barcelona and fine art at the University of Cincinnati's D.A.A.P. program. He was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Type 1 with manic episodes and was hospitalized on several occasions. On one occasion during a manic episode, he lived homeless on the streets of Las Vegas, until he was again hospitalized. His rich story can be seen in much of his artwork & lifestyle. He has worked with many materials ranging from stone to liquid acrylics. A large element in many of his works includes materials that would otherwise be discarded. One particular impressive element of his work is his ability to create a large painting in minimal time. He is active at home in gardening and lives a holistic lifestyle with his wife and 5yr old son.
